Pitch competition for young researchers

Are you a young TU/e scientist? Join FameLab!

Are you a young TU/e scientist, aged between 21 and 40, and are you interested in telling a large (international) audience about your research or a scientific subject of your choice? Then you should definitely join FameLab TU/e Online 2021.

FameLab is an international science communication competition organized in 31 countries. As a competitor in FameLab you are required to pitch your scientific story in up to three minutes. You can use a prop as part of your pitch, but it must be something you can carry yourself, and your story must be in English.

TU/e will be participating in FameLab for the third time in 2021.  Due to Covid restrictions, the FameLab TU/e Online 2021 heat will take place online.

The  FameLab competition offers a national and international platform to young researchers to inspire  a large audience about a host of scientific topics. This exciting competition between young scientists culminates in a grand finale during the Cheltenham Science Festival, which normally takes place in autumn each year. FameLab is an initiative of the British Council and is supported by the KNAW and VSNU.

Dutch National final

During the TU/e preliminary round, the participants will pitch their stories, and the jury will choose two winners who will go on to the national online final of FameLab at 1st June 2021 which will be organized by the TU/e as well. They will also receive a two-day master class at the KNAW, organized by the British Council.

The winners of the national final in June 2021 will advance to the international final at the Cheltenham Science Festival.
