Listening to and experiencing live music is more than just a leisure activity; it can form one’s identity and connect people to communities and places. The COVID-19 pandemic saw the end of live music as we know it, with online livestreams rapidly taking over.
In the lecture series ‘Minds on Music’, we look at music from a different scientific perspective. Today, you will listen to Femke Vandenberg reflect on this phenomenon from a cultural sociological perspective. She will examine this transition of live music to online music, focusing on the experience of the audience.
