Guide for Higher Education: TU/e best university of technology

This year, the Selection Guide for Higher Education has awarded 59 bachelor programs the title ‘excellent’, including three TU/e programs. Once again, Wageningen has the best university, but landing third place TU/e did very well, too.

In the Selection Guide Universities 2013 (Keuzegids Universiteiten), Wageningen tops the list just like it did in previous years. Scoring 64.5 points, TU/e’s bachelor education is ranked third, after that of Wageningen and the Open University, leaving direct competitors Twente (61.5) and Delft (56.5) far behind. Radboud University managed to barely overtake Leiden University, which makes the Nijmegen university the best university of arts and sciences (64 points).

This year, the best bachelor studies, scoring at least 76 points, have received the title ‘excellent program’ for the first time. There are 59 of these programs, especially in the area of science, theology and philosophy. According to the Guide, University Colleges are of an almost guaranteed high quality. TU/e programs Applied Physics, Innovation Sciences, and Biomedical Engineering are deemed excellent by the Guide. The latter two also scored best of their kind, as did Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Design. It should be noted that many technical programs are only offered at two or three universities, though.
