Plastic LEDs finally understood

With the help of a computer model TU/e researchers have succeeded in predicting which color the light of organic (‘plastic’) LEDs, or OLEDS, will be. Their finding makes it easier to develop OLEDs with specific characteristics. According to research supervisor dr. Peter Bobbert, OLEDs will come to be three times as energy-efficient. The research results were published on the Nature Materials website last Sunday.
