URE ready for the game

From July 31 through August 4, URE will be participating in the Formula Student competition at the Hockenheimring in Germany. It’s one of the races that are part of the semi-official World Championships for student racing teams.

The URE08, University Racing Eindhoven’s electric car, shouldn’t have any problems with wet tracks. Their rain tires are of the best quality and that could help them leave the competition behind. Over the next few days there will be presentation – the actual races will be held over the weekend. URE will participate in the electric car category along with 39 other teams. From August 29-September 1, URE will also attend the Formula Student in Spain. Formula Student is a design competition cum race for which student teams design and build their own race cars. During the race weekend these will be tested for acceleration and handling, among other things, as well as do a time trial. The team scoring the most points in all categories combined, wins.
