Professor Built Environment wins international award for wind engineering

Prof.dr.ir. Bert Blocken, professor of Built Environment, has won the Junior Award of the International Association of Wind Engineering (IAWE).

There are more than 140 countries associated with IAWE, and every country is free to put forward a researcher. IAWE presents two researchers with awards every year: a junior and a senior award. The first award is meant for researchers under 40, and Blocken performed best in that category. Blocken received the award for his ‘extraordinary international and national contributions to wind engineering research, education, and valorization’.
