Madness and value of junk

Scurrying through the Hoofdgebouw lobby will be tough for a while. Until May 15, you’ll see hundreds, thousands of objects that were gathered to form collections once by unknown human hands. Artist Pet van de Luijtgaarden collects them, and Marieke Kruithof and Anna Houwen of Studium Generale have made them into a colorful exhibition.

By collecting collections,Pet van de Luijtgaarden wants to convey the absurdity of the amount of stuff we possess. With the exhibition, and two lectures, Studium Generale wants to address the value of (over)consumption.
