This is Eindhoven

New to the city and don’t know where to go? Or maybe you’re tired of the same-old, same-old of slurping beer on Stratumseind? This is Eindhoven, Light City’s definitive guide of restaurants, hotspots, excursions and entertainment, is back on shelves as of May 28th. Available in both Dutch and English versions, the guide is bursting with surprising locations, routes and facts. And here’s one fact to put a smile on all you cash-poor students: the guide is totally free and includes two pages of coupons worth €160!

Some tidbits from the guide include…

Experience Eindhoven from the water

Eindhoven isn’t just about shopping, bars and PSV football. The city also boasts many inviting green areas where you can commune with your inner tree hugger. The guide’s chapter, Green Eindhoven, lays them all out for you and details quirky excursions such as seeing the city from a SUP (Stand Up Paddling) board on the Dommel river. The route passes through the center of Eindhoven via Genneper Parks and over the "waterfall" at the Van Abbe Museum, floats you past the Effenaar garden and finally deposits you back onto our own lovely TU/e campus.

The latest hotspots

Recently, Eindhoven’s shopping world got a bit swankier with the inclusion of the Woensel WestSide Stores - a collection of unique, creative and sustainable shops. The city guide profiles the new area by introducing you to the entrepreneurs in this colorful shopping district.

And, of course, there are plenty of other new shops and eateries to explore in Eindhoven. The guide’s ‘Through the eyes of’ section lets Eindhoven entrepreneurs - such as Het Ketelhuis’s chef, Joep - dish about their own new, favorite haunts.

The city guide is available at the Eindhoven Brand Store (VVV) or you can order it via the web shop at thisiseindhoven.nl.
