Intro 2019 | Welcome and here you go: a Leaf Blower Haircut

It feels very similar to those first minutes in the midst of the carnival bustle and hustle. Changing your mindset, getting used to it, managing all the stimuli. But the representatives of the various Eindhoven student and study associations guide the roughly two thousand dazed intro kids through the experience on the Limbopad on Monday morning.

It’s a rough three, maybe four hundred meters from the beginning of the Limbopad, where the Eindhovens Studenten Corps will be the first to greet the newcomers in its open-air club, to the ‘finish’ at the Auditorium. And a lot can happen in a few hundred meters. Like unexpectedly becoming the center of attention of a serenade by the musicians of Tuna Ciudad de Luz and La Tuniña. Or getting a Leaf Blower Haircut by photo and film club Dekate Mousa (so far for making a hairstylish first impression with your intro group). Experiencing ten seconds of fame on the yellow carpet of rowing association Thêta. Or being live on the radio with study association Lucid.

And you collect flyers. Many flyers. Because the classic way of recruiting (‘lubbing’ in Dutch) on the Limbopad on Intro Monday is the ultimate way to get the attention of the freshmen. From there, the new students, sometimes with a small detour, look for their intro supervisors, fellow group members and departments. The TU/e Intro of 2019 has started.
