"Everyone in our club hated that we don’t see each other anymore," says Ilona Hoenderop, member of the first women's team of Don Quishoot and master's student of Mathematics. "Normally we see each other three times a week, we are friends and we regularly have a beer together in the city. Now we have to keep in touch via Skype, Facetime and Houseparty. I’m not sure who started it, but at some point we were forwarding videos to each other in which wines were drunk. Later, a hockey stick was added that was thrown around virtually and that’s where this video originates from."

Teams within Don Quishoot nominated each other, and the 24th board has also risen to the challenge to empty a glass of wine with their hockey sticks. "I think I've already seen about five videos," Hoenderop says. "Everyone from Ladies 1 wanted to take up the challenge, but no one wanted to edit the video. So I decided to do it, it's too much fun to leave it."

Nominations for other hockey teams, including other student hockey clubs, are now in full swing. Don Quishoot's favorite bar, café La Route on Stratumseind, has also accepted the challenge.

Do not think too lightly about this challenge; that wine glass easily slips from your stick (check the blooper video below). "A teammate is at home with her parents. They were surprised when she asked them to film her while she was drinking a glass of wine with her hockey stick, but they liked the end result very much."
