No more work-from-home advice at TU/e as of Thursday

January 8, 2026 - On Wednesday, there was still the advise for students and staff to work from home, but today classes and activities on campus are being resumed. “[...] Thursday January 8 education can continue as planned. This means that educational activities will take place on campus again,” the Executive Board writes in a message.

Good news for students and staff at Built Environment: the heating in the Vertigo building is working properly again, and everyone should now be able to work and study in a comfortable temperature there. Should the winter weather worsen again, the Executive Board may issue another advice to stay at home. Updates will be shared by email, as well as via the TU/e website, Canvas, and the Education Guide. / CdW

TU/e staff receive mental health support through OpenUp

January 5, 2026 - TU/e employees and their family members can now make use of OpenUp, an online platform focused on mental health and well-being. According to the university’s intranet, the platform offers one-on-one sessions with professionals, as well as inspiration and practical tools. OpenUp guarantees confidentiality and is available in multiple languages.

TU/e has entered into this collaboration with OpenUp as part of its aim to create “a safe and supportive environment for everyone” and hopes the platform will encourage staff to seek help at an early stage. / LvA
