The housing corporation announced they have received their alteration permit. If all goes according to plan, the 'OLV8' project should start early 2013. The sixty future rental homes in the five-story building will range from 23 to 55 square meters. There will also be a self-service laundry and possibly wifi. In consultation with future residents it will be decided whether or not a common area is desired and feasible.

The ground floor of OLV8 will be reserved for commercial use after all reconstruction work is completed. The studios will be rented out through Kansrijkhuren. About half of all students will be required to sign a 'campus contract' stating they'll have to leave their rental homes within six months after graduating or ending their studies. Rent is yet to be determined, but is estimated at approximately four hundred euro a month. Student may be eligible for a federal housing allowance, says Wooninc.
