In short, the aim of the owner of De Oude Rechtbank is to offer more activities for people aged thirty and over. He wants to join catering, culture and work. The venue includes a brasserie, there are several e-working companies settled there, and it will be a platform for cultural events on a regular basis.One of the companies that settled at De Oude Rechtbank is 040Events.com. As the International&Expats account manager, Carmen Paños coordinates all activities at De Oude Rechtbank aimed at non-natives. A year ago, she moved from Madrid to Eindhoven. She says the aim of the international activities is twofold: placing other cultures in the spotlights, and promoting integration.At the opening this Sunday (invite only) there will be several performances. On February 12, visitors are welcome to enjoy an ‘international carnival’, on March 8 there will be an International Women’s Day celebration, and late April will see a Spanish day. There are plans for a Latin-American week as well. All events are internationally oriented and are meant for both Dutch and international guests. For now, the idea is to plan two international events a month.Apart from participating in abovementioned activities, visitors are welcome to visit the venue’s international library, where expats can pick up books in their native language and leave books whenever they leave the Netherlands.Spanish student music groups Tuna Ciudad de Luz and La Tuniña will probably be performing at De Oude Rechtbank soon. International student association Cosmos has also shown an interest in the location. Jacky Janes of Cosmos: “We’re moving from the Bunker to MetaForum already this week, and our new location is too small for big events.
