Student rooms to turn into mini stages once again

Stukafest, the festival that invites various music, dance, and theater acts to perform in student rooms, will be celebrated on February 10. It’s a national annual event.

At Stukafest, students can choose from an array of bands, quirky theater, stand-up comedy, and much more. There are three rounds of performances, with time to bike from one location to the next in between.

The student rooms are scattered around Eindhoven, but are all inside or barely outside the ring road. Only one act will perform on TU/e grounds, in student hockey club Don Quishoot’s club house. The campus performance will remain undisclosed, as it’s this year’s Mystery Act.

Stukafest always kicks off with the ‘Stukahap’ (Stuka Grub), which will be served at Ludwig (Nachtegaallaan) this year. Dick van den Goor: “You order a seven-euro pizza and listen to live music by singer-songwriters of PopEi PuurLiedjes. At Ludwig there’s a last chance to score Stukafest tickets, but the most special about the venue is the exhibit Graphic Surgery by Gysbert Zijlstra and Erris Huigens, which is not yet included in the program.”

So far, a sixth of available tickets have been sold. Tickets are 4.50 euros or less per round, “thanks to the structural support by sponsors and foundations”, says Van den Goor, who has been responsible for acquisition. Tickets are available online.
