Timetable change bus 104

On Monday, October 19, the timetable for bus 104 will change. The first buses in morning and afternoon rush hour will be canceled. Extra buses will be added after rush hour periods. In November, carrier Hermes and other parties involved will discuss if line 104 is a keeper. Bus 104 is a pilot and has been driving to and from TU/e campus from the Eindhoven central station since February.

The bus is currently on an alternative route because of roadworks at John F. Kennedylaan. It will go back to its normal route on October 12. The new timetable will be effective starting the week after that. The first bus currently leaves the station at 7.07 a.m., but in the new timetable that will change to 7.52 a.m. The last morning bus to campus won’t leave at 9.09 a.m. anymore, but at 9.37 a.m. Buses from campus to the central station start running from LaPlace Square at 4.16 p.m. instead of 4.01p.m. The last bus to head for the station leaves campus at 6.16 p.m.

The bus line is a service for people on campus, which is why TU/e financed the pilot, says Boers. If the line is to continue, Hermes will also expect a financial contribution from TU/e. “We’re expecting a quote soon. Based on that, we’ll decide in November whether or not line 104 will be continued next year.” Boers anticipates necessary investments from other campus dwellers, such as Fontys, DIFFER, GE Healthcare, TNO, and Brainport Development, as well.
