Tunas to start visiting bars and pubs

Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese students, both present and former, will be entertaining passersby in Eindhoven city center September 16 through 18 with their Spanish songs and spontaneous serenades.

This twelfth edition of the Tuna Festival will be the first occasion on which the Spanish-speaking musicians, dressed in their colorful outfits, perform in bars and pubs. Only last week, the Eindhoven student music association Tuna Ciudad de Luz, which together with La Tuniña will form the organizing team, was winning prizes in Murcia, Spain.

Various student associations have expressed an interest in joining the festival lineup. Student musical society Quadrivium is keen to perform, as are student dance association Footloose, and Mariachi Eindhoven, a Mexican student music group.
