Intro 2018 | No mischievous kids

"No time for mischief, we need to fill up on fresh beef", said intro kid Van der Waals being all tough, while he was still walking around the campus. But till then he had not yet seen the supply of barbecue meat at Demos. There are five hundred hamburgers, five hundred sausages and five hundred chicken skewers for four hundred fifty students. They are prepared by their well-known burger baker Aad and his family.

Aad is honorary member of Demos and wears his burgundy shirt with Demos printed on it proudly (and as often as possible). At the courtyard at De Wal in downtown Eindhoven, all intro kids of Applied Physics and Biomedical Engineering eat together with their mums and dads.

Keizersgracht

On the street (which is called Keizersgracht) students are waiting for the last group members. They have no idea what to expect and hope for fries. But they won’t get those.

Intro 2018 | Tasting and smelling beer

"Are there students who are still 17?", is the first question that is asked during the beer brewing workshop that was held in Helix this afternoon. Boris Zwaan, a third-year Chemical Engineering student, brews beer at home and would like to explain this to the intro kids. Of course, the participants can also taste the beer, but there is perhaps even more to smell.
