Student elections for University Council: spot the differences

Is the standpoint of Groep-één really any different from that of the Eindhoven Student Council when it comes to study stress? Or does the position held by DAS Eindhoven differ significantly from those of the other two factions once they all start talking about how the Bachelor College should be improved? Cursor sat the leaders of these three factions down face-to-face and filmed their discussion. On many points they agree. So where do the differences lie?

Walls, stairways and glass walls are once again being covered with the pictures of candidates in the University Council election. This latest round, for student members, will be held on December 4 and 5. There are three flavors to choose from: Groep-één, Eindhoven Student Council (ESR) and DAS Eindhoven. DAS was last year's surprising debutant on the Eindhoven council, seizing two of the nine seats.. Groep-één and the ESR won four and three, respectively.

But how many seats will the student factions find in the shoes they put out for Sinterklaas when the digital polling station closes at midnight on Wednesday December 5? And is there really anything to choose between since in the University Council meetings it seems that the factions are actually very often in agreement?

So will you be choosing that cool guy or girl who you got on so well with at your study association, and whose broad smile is now staring down at you from the wall in your departmental building? Or would you rather find out where your vote would be most at home next week based on seeing an exchange of the candidate's views? If so, you might want to watch Cursor's video report.
