Shared mobility: convenient to use, but parking could be improved
The many shared scooters and shared bicycles are a familiar sight for our students. They are in great demand among the target group and therefore appear a lot on campus. Parking is not always flawless, but geofencing is improving that.
Cursor decided to dig further into the file on shared mobility and to see how things are developing on campus with the scooters and bicycles from Go, Felyx and Tier. The wrong parking of the vehicles in the wrong places seemed not too bad during filming, except for a single two-wheeler. This may be because geofencing is now being applied on campus, with the app indicating much more accurately where you can and cannot return your scooter or bicycle. You are then forced to park it in an allowed spot before you can end your ride - and the meter stops ticking. Due to their price and wide availability, the electric scooters and bicycles are an interesting means of transport for students, although not all interviewees see the added value:
