Back in the SSCE: “It’s nice to clear your mind again”

Happy faces, that typifies a tour of the Student Sports Centre (SSCE). Students are allowed to practice indoor sports again since May 19. Not without conditions though, such as the 1.5-meter distance rule, but that won’t spoil the fun.

“I exercised a lot at home during the lockdown, but I did become less motivated over time,” Britt, second-year Biomedical Engineering student at TU/e, says. “It’s my first time back, so I almost feel anxious!”

Third-year student Sander is level-headed about the reopening. “It’s nice to exercise again, to clear your mind. I decided to buy some weights when everything was closed.”

Fitness instructor Jay couldn’t be happier. “It’s busier than before corona, all classes are fully booked. I already heard complaints because people can’t sign up any more, but that’s a good sign.”

Happy faces are typical when entering the SSCE. Since May 19, students are allowed to enjoy indoor sports again.
