The Welcome Day in 10 pictures

Flags from countries all around the world waved across the TU/e campus, making it instantly clear: today, new international students were given a warm welcome during Welcome Day.

The new students visited the information market, got a crash course in Dutch history through a comedy show, shared lunch to get to know each other better, and wrapped up the day with an active program of various workshops. Below is a visual impression of Welcome Day in ten pictures.

Staying true to the theme, the Atlas and Auditorium buildings were decorated with flags from all over the world.

The morning began with the registration and a general presentation in the Markthal.

The students were then split into two groups. The first group started with a visit to the information market.

Student associations, student employment agencies, a TU/e merchandise shop, and student representation groups — a wide range of services and initiatives were present to introduce themselves to the new students.

The stands were spread across Auditorium, Atlas, and the walking bridge in between, giving the new students plenty to explore.

Meanwhile, Luuk van der Vaart took the second group of students on a whirlwind journey through Dutch history with his performance“The Story of the Netherlands.” Afterwards, this group visited the information market and attended the other Van der Vaart performance.

Cursor was also present at the information market. At the far end of Atlas, the editorial team handed out this year’s Intro Magazine.

Copies will be handed out again on Intro Monday (during the Campus Quest) and Tuesday (during the Campus Market). The magazine is also available online.

International students were invited to place a pin on a large world map to mark their home country.

Meanwhile, preparations were in full swing elsewhere on campus for the Intro Week starting on Monday.
