Asia Week: Asia in the spotlights

A performance by Laura Fygi, Japanese percussion, a cricket tournament, and lots of musical nights – the organization of Asian Week spared no expense. Some festivities will take place on TU/e grounds. Between May 19-26, people are welcome to visit the second edition of the event.

Westerners and Chinese people communicate very differently at times. Studium Generale organizes a lecture discussing the reasons for these differences. Former editor of newspaper NRC will talk about the matter in De Zwarte Doos on Wednesday, May 22 at 11AM.

Most other activities can be found across the city center. Laura Fygi will perform at the opening ceremony in the Park Theater on May 19. Bar De Carrousel will host an Asian-themed quiz night on May 23, starting at 8PM. Those who are interested may also attend the bar’s Korean and Vietnamese night that week.

Part of the program  has been realized thanks to the hard work of several TU/e students. The Association of Chinese Students and Scholars in Eindhoven, and the Chinese Dance Group in Eindhoven are in charge of the event. They are supported by Eindhoven Studentenstad (Eindhoven student city), a collaboration between TU/e, Fontys, international student associations and the city.

The complete program can be found here.
