Award for Eindhoven eye robot

TU/e spinoff PRECEYES Medical Robotics has won the Science & Medicine Innovation Award at the London EURETINA Congress, a major conference for eye care professionals. PRECEYES has been developing a eye surgery robot that allows for surgery that is ten to twenty times more accurate than current surgical operations. The award came with 20,000 euros, and will help the startup in finding investors to market the robot.

The award is an important recognition for PRECEYES, says dr.ir. Gerrit Naus, director of the spinoff. “We attend lots of congresses that are also visited by surgeons to collect input for our product. After all, we want to develop something they actually want to use. This award is proof we’re headed in the right direction.”
