All TU/egether in reality
On Thursday night, the huge stage at the KOE field is the place for Hakuna Matata, Kandy Lee, Hofnar, Sophie's Choice, Nikki Nice, and Puresang to showcase their tunes. The Intro closing party is called 'All TU/egether'. Half of the students can be seen dancing hesitantly near the stage, others are chatting away further back, as there is ample space to do so.
Students are wearing their study association T-shirts, or one from their own closets. Only few people are dressed up. Intro daddy Maurice Wijshoff is an exception, however: he's wearing bright pink rainboots that stand out quite a bit. It's the seventh time the student of Industrial Engineering celebrates the Intro; as a freshmen, a volunteer, and five times as a daddy . "There is no Intro that's no fun," he tells us from experience, "but it's gotten a little too serious."
Freshman Bart Koppelmans (Computer Science) is less fault-finding. As far as he's concerned, everything is "aaawesome". What he'll remember most about the 2015 TU/e Intro? "You're kind of one with the whole university. Or something. Could you just write something down?" He has a hard time standing still, but it's the music rather than the beer. We think.
Bart is very happy with his dad (Geert Derks) and mom (Amber van der Heijden). "They've done a great job this week. They lost some kids, but that wasn't their fault. They even told us about Cursor!"
