Dinner @Inter Pocula’s

Cursor visits a studenthouse in Eindhoven every two weeks. The cooks reveal their secret recipes and we get to know the house and it's inhabitants. This time: Dinner @ Inter Pocula’s, Visserstraat 2, Eindhoven.

Just Max van Kuipers’ (student at Fontys) luck: today, he’s the one to go grocery shopping, cook, serve dinner, clean the table and do the dishes. The seven housemates take turns taking care of the whole lot. After this, Max will have six days ‘off’.

The men are all members of independent chapter Inter Pocula, which means ‘among beer mugs’, and have dinner outside today. The idea is to eat in the chef’s room, but Max’ room is just too tiny.

What a shame you don’t have a common area!
“No, it’s perfect. Now we have reason to visit each other. We’re always in someone’s room. Whoever wants privacy can close his door, but that barely happens”, says Max.

How would you describe this house?
There’s a really friendly atmosphere, witness the rooms doors that are always open, and the things they do together. Board games, computer games, attending socials at Walhalla or having drinks at other bars, you name it. Stefan van Uden, (sixth-year student of Chemical Engineering and member of student rugby club THE Elephants) praises the ‘anything goes’ mentality. “We can all just be ourselves.”

Recipe: pasta with all the good stuff life has to offer

Max van Kuipers (Fontys) is the cook today. This means he has to do the grocery shopping, cook, serve, clear the table and do the dishes. The seven inhabitant of Inter Pocula do it all on turns. After today Max is off the hook for six meals.
