Catering revamped

The range of food and beverages on offer at various TU/e canteens has recently been expanded and some remodeling work has also been done. Additionally, if any lectures and exams are planned for the evening hours, caterer Eurest will extend the opening hours of the restaurants near the halls being used. With these changes, every effort is being made to respond to the wishes of users, whose views were asked in a survey in early 2016.

While the basic range of food and beverages on offer remains the same, various new concepts are being added to broaden the product range, and to better serve the international community. The Foodflip concept has been introduced, for example. Here the products offered change every four months. In MetaForum, for instance, Indian curry is now available - and is selling very well - and in early 2017 it will be replaced with something else. The curry meanwhile may well become available in another building.

In Flux, a section offering organic food has been added to the concept, and here a nutrition expert is on hand to give advice. Most of the planned changes have now been made. The Starbucks in Vertigo is due to open in early November. For Atlas, the former Main Building, plans are now in development.

What else is new? That students themselves now have more freedom to organize the food and drink on offer in the market hall in MetaForum. The idea is not that they use an external caterer, but they are no longer required to hire Eurest.

If lectures and exams are planned for the evening hours, caterer Eurest will extend the opening hours of the restaurants near the halls being used. These opening hours will be communicated in good time on A4 notices posted in all campus restaurants.

In yesterday's Cursor you will find an overview of the food and beverages served at the various catering outlets.
