Back on the terrace and in the canteen

Few people will have failed to notice that Dutch cafes and restaurants carefully yet enthusiastically opened their doors again on the 1st of June. The reopening of cafes and restaurants on our own campus might however have passed unnoticed by many students and staff members (most of whom are working from home). Cursor visited a handful of locations where things are up and running again.

“Wonderful,” says a cheerful Loes Overdevest of grand café De Zwarte Doos, located at the front campus at the Limbopad. “We were closed for two and a half months. Being able to stretch your legs again and walk on the terrace, that’s really exciting.”

Our video reporter Fabian Lucas Luijckx took his camera and visited Overdevest and other managers of catering facilities on campus, to hear from them how they, and their guests, experience the return to the canteen, café or terrace. Watch the video below.

P.S. Are you back on campus again soon, and will you be in the neighborhood of the Kennispoort building? The staff of the canteen there will welcome you with open arms. Don’t forget to mention that you saw this Cursor video, you’ll get a small ‘welcome back’ present in return.
