TU/e to launch university-wide study catalog

First-year students who picked up their TU/e notebooks today will have noticed their homepage is set to the new digital university study catalog. Until recently, information for students was to be found online quite randomly, a study revealed. TU/e therefore decided to examine their way of sharing information carefully. The result? The university now offers most information in a single online catalog.

TU/e spent about eighteen months on the preparations and design for studiegids.tue.nl – a more detailed digital version of the paper study catalog that was handed out to all students until a few years ago. The new catalog is a project of the Education and Students Service Center (STU), ICT Services, and the Communication Expertise Center. Previous websites with information won’t be deleted (right away), but they will link to the new catalog. Departments can add of edit information themselves. Parts of the catalog are available in English, parts in Dutch. If a study program is available in Dutch only, then the catalog information will Dutch-only as well. The catalog is not yet comprehensive, but eventually it will be the place where all information can be found.
