Associations receive training on social safety
The student party De Ambitieuze Student (DAS) is organizing training sessions on social safety for study associations, sports associations, and student associations. The training gives board members practical tools to develop policies that contribute to a socially and sexually safe environment.
The training sessions are provided by GELIJKSPEL, a foundation committed to creating a positive and safe social environment. On Wednesday, all study associations at TU/e were invited. Next week, study associations, sports associations, and student associations from across Eindhoven can join.
Their own policies
Study associations and sports associations at TU/e decide for themselves how they develop their policies on social and sexual safety. The GELIJKSPELplan helps them establish effective and practical policies. The training for TU/e associations also addresses the Code of Conduct.
During the second part of the training, board members from the different associations discuss their experiences with inappropriate behavior. They also discuss how they can develop their policies as effectively as possible, for example by receiving an explanation of how to create their own code of conduct. The goal is to better equip associations to respond both proactively and reactively to (sexually) inappropriate behavior.
